Lord, be my strength. All day, every day.

peterdwebb:

Hey guys, there’s hope for every terrible situation. God is here and can make us new. Whatever we’ve become can be blotted out and we can start fresh.

spiritualinspiration:

"Pray without ceasing." (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

If there is a common thread that should run through the life of a Christian each day, it’s prayer. Now, that doesn’t mean you refuse to speak to anyone else or that you drive down the road with your eyes closed. But it does mean being ever ready and willing to go before God. Nothing is too small or too big for God to care about. He created you, so why wouldn’t He care about you? You should bathe your life in prayer. Pray for wisdom, peace, and patience. Pray for your marriage, your job, and your children. Pray for other people and circumstances, even when the situation may seem hopeless. Give every person and everything in your life to God in prayer and they will be in the best of hands!

Prayer Request. Please read.

My father *might* have serious illness. Mama and Papa are not telling us about it but I just knew it the other day and the thought of Papa having it really scares me and makes me cry. Blurry eyes, I remember it again. Argh! I don’t want to declare it until I’m really sure. On September 6, there will be a Korean Medical Mission near our place (thank God for this!) and will tell Papa to come over and have second opinion about his health.

I’m asking everyone to please pray for really good results (no found illness) of Papa’s check-up. Rebuke any infection, disorder or whatever you may call it. I’m so thankful I have you people as also my family in Christ that I can always count on especially during days like this. Thank you so much!

A praying church creates a spiritual atmosphere most favorable to preaching.
— E.M. Bounds (via fearless-and-bold-for-christ)

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

For a wound to heal, you have to clean it out. Again, and again, and again. And this cleaning process stings. The cleaning of a wound hurts. Yes. Healing takes so much work. So much persistence. And so much patience. But every process has an end and an appointed term. Your healing will come, God willing. And like all created things, your worldly pain will die.

Be much in secret prayer. Converse less with man, and more with God.

I believe in a God of scandalous grace. If I believed terrorists were beyond redemption, I would need to rip out half of my New Testament Scriptures, for they were written by a converted terrorist.
I have pledged allegiance to a King who loved evildoers so much he died for them, teaching us that there is something worth dying for but nothing worth killing for. While terrorists were nailing him to the cross, my Jesus pleaded that they be shown mercy, for they knew not what they were doing. We are all wretched, and we are all beautiful. No one is beyond redemption. May we see in the hands of the oppressors our own hands, and in the faces of the oppressed our own faces. We are made of the same dust, and we cry the same salty tears.
